Mental Vacation
Dancer: Joe Contillo
Music: Fluke (Original Mix) by Twibak
My piece is about how much I have learned about dance being strongly connected to the mind. If you are thinking of anything other than the present moment and not all there mentally, you will not be all there physically. My solo piece is utilizing all I've learned this semester about really honing in on my dancing and being all there mentally. We deal with a lot of stressors through our day-to-day life's and I now see dancing as a way for us to express ourselves with all our built-up emotions to leave it all on the dance floor. We need to learn and master how to take a "mental vacation" when we want to truly express ourselves on the dance floor to our full capabilities.
